Permit rules
- Permits are issued per snowmobile, not per person. The buyer is responsible for the permit.
- Lost permits are not replaced.
- A damaged permit can be replaced for $10 if you return the pieces of the original sticker with your purchase documents.
- Place the permit on the upper left of the centre of the windshield, or on the top left of the centre of the engine cowling, as seen from the driver’s seat.
Common questions
Do I need a trail permit?
Yes. Every snowmobile on a PEISA trail needs its own valid trail permit. Riding without one carries a $500 fine.

A regular seasonal permit is $325 + HST. Buy by December 31, 2026 for the lower early-bird price. A 1-day pass is $50 and a 3-day pass is $100.

Can I buy permits for several sleds at once?
Yes. Add a permit for each sled to one order and pay once.
How do the 1-day and 3-day passes work?
A 1-day pass is good for 24 hours from the start date and time you choose. A 3-day pass covers three days in a row from your chosen start. Day passes are sold online only and can be printed at home.
What counts as a vintage snowmobile?
Sleds from 2007 and older. Vintage permits are sold online, and you'll upload proof of registration after you pay.
Is there a discount for families with several sleds?
Yes. A household that buys more than two trail permits gets back 50% of the lower-priced permit for the third permit and every one after it, based on early-bird rates.

Yes. The corporate advertising permit is $300 + HST and lists your business as a PEISA corporate partner. It's sold only by PEISA: call (902) 629-5008 or email admin@peisa.ca.

Online any time. Seasonal permits are also sold in person at Access PEI (a $10 service fee applies) and at local dealers. Day passes are online only.

Why do I have to watch a video when I buy?
Every order includes the 30-second Stay On Trail video. You watch it once per order, not once per sled.
When will I get my sticker?
Your receipt comes from permits@peisa.ca and works as a temporary permit. Seasonal stickers are mailed within five business days. Regular mail is free; registered mail is $12.
